This is not a road legal car but in fact a true dedicated race car. The car comes with the following. - 2 extra sets of wheels - Helmet AC Unit - Coolsuit - Radio - Transponder - DSA Tester - Passenger Seat - GPX Live Stream System.Give us a call at 248-538-9600 or email info@cauley.net to set up a private viewing of this car or stop by our showroom in West Bloomfield, MI to see it up close. In 1993, Ferrari first introduced the Ferrari Challenge race series which is a Ferrari-only championship that gives its clients the ability to purchase a turnkey Ferrari race car from the factory. Owners are then given the opportunity to race their Challenge car in a Ferrari-sanctioned race series where full support will be offered from crews, fuel, tires, parts, etc. You just show up and drive! The first Ferrari model offered in the Challenge series was the 348 Berlinetta and a race variant has been offered for all subsequent models - the F355, 360, F430, 458, and lastly the 488. The Ferrari challenge now encompasses three official championships around the world, North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. Competitors from each series are brought together at the Annual World Finals called the Finali Mondiali which changes location every year. Even though the road-going 488 GTB already features a very aerodynamic body, the 488 Challenge goes one step further in pursuit of aero efficiency. The front radiator layout has been optimized for racing conditions, requiring new vents at the bottom of the bumper. A more pronounced front splitter and vents increase downforce and help to balance the extra downforce of the rear wing. Intakes on the rear flanks take cooling air to the rear brakes, while the intakes for the engine are positioned under the rear spoiler, taking advantage of the high pressure generated there. Inside, creature comforts are few but you won't need any entertainment other than the sound of that beautiful V8. While it's still powered by the same 3.9-liter V8 as the road-going 488 GTB, the 488 Challenge engine is designed specifically for racing. Compared with its predecessor, the 458 Challenge, the new 488 Challenge chops a second off the Fiorano lap time and is more than 8 seconds faster than a road-going 488 GTB. Ferrari's patented Side Slip Control software makes its first appearance in a purpose-built Ferrari racing car, calibrated for maximum traction on turn-in, cornering, and acceleration. Challenge drivers have three Manettino settings to adjust during the heat of competition; one controls braking, while the other two separately adjust the traction control and electronic differential. In essence, they give the driver independent control over when and how intensely the system intervenes. It will take time for any driver to master all the permutations of torque and traction, but this is a car that rewards skill and commitment. If you are not already an experienced race car driver, do not worry. Ferrari offers various driver training programs through its Corso Pilota program at a few different locations in North America. The programs are designed to train everyone from novices to those with real racing experience under their belt.
